6300 ft. above sea level

During the peak of summer, the animals on Jänzimatt move to the Fontannen meadows. High above the valley, they graze on an altitude of 6300 feet. There’s a mobile milking station, but there are no buildings up there, so the cows are outside all the time. The milk is brought to Jänzimatt. This procedure is a little bit easier this year since a dirt road has been built up to Fontannen.

The Fontannen meadows high above the valley…
…with the cows grazing 6300 feet above sea level.
Gathering them for milking.
The new road makes it easier to transport the milk to the dairy.
