All good on Alp Gummen

For the second year Martin Dobler, formerly on Alp Parpan, is the cheesemaker on Alp Gummen at the foot of the impressive “Kleiner Mythen” peak. Due to the beautiful summer that was present over most parts of Europe he and his team had very busy times. “But the quality of the grass, of the milk was excellent throughout. And I’m also happy that our team works well together”, says Dobler….

Open house on Urnerboden

Since the dairy is easy to access along the Klausen Passstrasse a lot of people showed up on the weekend as Urnerboden had its “Open House”. Swift changes in weather

On Alp Steiners Hohberg the summer has been beautiful for most of the time. But like everywhere else on the planet the weather patterns have changed: After extremely hot days more and more powerful stormes cross the lands. Haying is done on Satteleggli

Per contract the Reichenbach family is allowed to hay on Satteleggli after August 5. Since the weather was great after some rain the fulfilled the task. Wonderful food for the cows in the winter.

No time to rest

The beautiful summer weather brings a lot of people to the little restaurant on Alp Imbrig. That’s a lot of additional work besides taking care of the animals and making cheese. There’s no time to rest, except for little Lena. Margrit is very busy in the little kitchen. It’s all home made. Take it easy! Very early in the morning – making cheese. And then cleaning.
